LANL Public Information Meeting May 22

The public is invited to attend a meeting regarding a permit modification to the Los Alamos National Laboratory Hazardous Waste Facility Permit.

LANL is hosting the meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 in Fuller Lodge, 2132 Central Ave., in Los Alamos

 

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Los Alamos National Security, LLC (LANS), have submitted a Class 2 permit modification request to modify the LANL Hazardous Waste Facility Permit.

The modification supports increases in container storage capacity at the permitted units known as RANT located at TA-54-38, West Indoor

Jerry Massee, a member of the Los Alamos Field Office Cyber Security Team, recently earned recognition as New Mexico Federal Employee of the Year by the New Mexico Federal Executive Board.

Massee, a Santa Fe resident, provides oversight of the Information Technology (IT) and Records Management (IRM) programs at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The two programs account for $250-$300 million of the lab’s $2.1 billion annual budget.

LANL Selects Three Small Businesses for Environmental Work

LANL News:

  • Value of up to $150 million over five years

Los Alamos National Laboratory has awarded a master task order agreement in which three small businesses will compete for environmental work worth up to $150 million over five years. The businesses each have offices in northern New Mexico.

The agreement is for technical services for the Laboratory’s Environmental Programs directorate and includes work such as environmental engineering design, regulatory support, risk assessment and reporting.

Regional Coalition Pleased with DOE Reprogramming Request for LANL Clean Up Funding

SANTA FEThe Regional Coalition of LANL Communities is pleased to announce that New Mexico is one step closer to receiving critical federal funding needed to maintain ongoing environmental management efforts at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

 

Last week, U.S. Senators Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich and U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luján announced that the Department of Energy (DOE) and the White House sent a reprogramming request to Congress in the amount of $19 million.
